18th August.....how time fly's

It's been a while...

Wow it has been busy here at Avalon's Attic with the kids off
school!! Busy packing for our camping trip to France too.

On a craftier note, I have started with some Christmas cards, and
couldn't help myself buying some new Lawn Fawn dies with matching stamp sets...well they did send me a 35% off voucher....silly not to take them up on it.
Also have bought some Faber Castell Gelatos in their metalics collection. And a free 18 piece Christmas bauble stamp set with Papercraft inspirations magazine.

A few examples of the freebie stamps.

Short and sweet post today.

Nearly 100 subscribers!

Wow!
Nearly 100 subscribers to my YouTube channel !
I know in the grand scheme of things, that this is a mere drop
in the ocean compared to the big crafters on there!
But I am delighted to have the few I do.

I have uploaded a craft room tour video...
hop on over to Avalon's Attic and take a look.

I have finished a material journal swap and will upload a few photo's from that later.
Loved doing it, such a difference from the traditional card / paper junk journals I make.

Also, exciting news......a new sewing machine is on it's way ! My last one
died unexpectedly....so I bought a new one !

Crafting regards xx

Busy week !

It's been a busy week here!
I have been tidying the last few bits ready
for a craft room tour, and that is now up and running on
my YouTube channel.
I have also been finishing a material junk journal for
a swap on one of a few Facebook groups I belong to.
It's my first one, as I am used to making them with paper etc !
Photo's to follow when I know it has been received.

Vintage sewing patterns....just lovely !

Well I couldn't resist these
vintage sewing patters for
my junk journals!

I have seen a few people use
them for little mini books, or pockets
so I am going to give it a try.

I wonder how many fingers have smoothed these fine tissue templates?

plastic tubs with lids....

Does anyone else have tons of little boxes with craft related (though sometimes not very craft related) "things" in them. You know the kind....takeaway food tubs....
You try and resist washing it up and saying" ooh that'll be useful for...."
But resistance is futile, and before you know it,
you have a plethora of the little blighters.!

I have had a good clear out of such tubs....and also another "useful" tub I used to keep...the plastic ones that washing capsules come in....wowsers they were like a Godsend when they first came out. I had around 30 given to me too....sheesh....what was I thinking?!

But I still fall into this trap of  "stylish" packaging....I will admit to buying a
glass jar of a well know brand of mayonnaise....just because it was a beautiful shape....which, once washed could store small pretty thing in.....

And don't even get me started on Mason jars....

Until the next crafting ramble....x

..it's so clean!

I have spent all day tidying my craft room.
I have thrown out lots of junk and
old scraps of paper that was previously kept in the
"may come in useful" pile.

It's so nice and clean ....I may do a craft room tour video !!

Egg cartons and Onken pots!

As a crafter, I am always on the look out for new ways to store my
ever expanding array of "bits."
I would consider myself a "collector " of anything that may come in useful, and that's where the egg cartons and Onken pots come in very useful. I have them lined up in my top drawer, open to reveal all their crafty goodies!

The egg cartons hold washi tapes, beads, odd charms, embellishments galore. Anything I can't bear to just throw away.In short, my top drawer really is a crafters heaven!

The Onken pots are so very useful for storage too. Tall.Sturdy.Perfect!

Self taught, through hours spent watching tutorials online,
I love to try new things all the time, and there are days when I have so many ideas in my head that nothing is accomplished !!

I love making greeting cards, for most occasions apart from "wedding" as they  scare me! it's such "big" occasion, so it's too much pressure!! And Condolence cards...well I have an aversion to them too, simply because I can't get my head around"enjoying" making this style of card. Crazy I know.!

Junk journals are a real passion for me. The more vintage, and the more ephemera
in them the better! ( Where would us crafter's be without that certain "distress stain?!)

Sewing is another area I like to dabble in. Nothing to complicated ( life's too short to be
hunched over a sewing pattern, worrying if your darts are in the correct place...)
